Asset Operations Manager (San Francisco, CA / Immediate)
Background:
This San Francisco-based firm owns and operates energy efficiency and renewable energy projects nationwide.
Position Overview:
The Asset Operations Manager (AOM) is responsible for managing all the technical aspects of a photovoltaic assets portfolio. The AOM will work closely with the Asset Management team to develop standardized design criteria, engineering practices, and construction methods to improve the ease of operability of future projects. The systems must be optimally operated to maximize life expectancy while minimizing the operating expenses. The AOM will monitor the performance of the systems daily to ensure trouble-free operation. The AOM will be the main point of contact for customers during operations. These systems are located throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
This position is in the Asset Operations group and will report to the Director of Asset Operations.
Responsibilities:
• Create and standardize the operation methods for optimal system performance
• Monitor the production of the systems versus a variety of guidelines to determine performance
• Monitor wind, rain, seismic, and wildfire events to identify and respond to potential issues
• Coordinate with vendors and material suppliers to determine the most economical materials for operations
• Standardize designs for multiple regions and for different vendors used in various regions across the country.
• Coordinate warranty activities for all equipment onsite
• Produce reporting and fulfill obligations of project documents
Qualifications:
Required experience:
• 3-6 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of operating power plants
• Experience working in the field and coordinating with contractors.
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to travel (spontaneous as issues arise)
• Bachelor degree in technical field or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience
• Experience in design of commercial scale photovoltaic systems.
• Experience with electrical design and the NEC
• Strong knowledge of construction of photovoltaic system design
Compensation:
Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience. The position will be located in the organization's San Francisco office, with some travel required.
