This San Francisco-based firm owns and operates energy efficiency and renewable energy projects nationwide.

Position Overview:
The Solar Design Manager is responsible for reviewing packages for the construction of distributed generation photovoltaic systems produced by a variety of integrator partners. The systems must be designed to maximize life expectancy while minimizing the total installed costs. These systems must be flexible to meet the requirements throughout the United States.

This position is in the Asset Implementation group and will report to the Director of Asset Implementation.

Responsibilities:
•    Oversee and standardize component design and configuration within overall solar system design.
•    Coordinate with Integrators and material suppliers to determine the most economical materials to use.
•    Integrate standardized designs with existing design tools flexibility to updating design tools and templates.
•    Work with the company standards engineer to keep track of designs and designate a part number for critical components.
•    Coordinate Professional Engineers with jurisdiction to approve component design in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
Required:
•    3-6 years of relevant experience
•    BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
•    Knowledge of standard building codes and techniques.  
•    Experience working in the field and coordinating with building inspectors
•    Experience with electrical design and the National Electrical Code
•    Experience in industrial electrical construction projects

Preferred Experience:
•    Experience in design of commercial scale photovoltaic systems.  
•    Strong knowledge of construction of photovoltaic system design.
•    Value-add engineering experience
•    Strong working knowledge of photovoltaic design software

Compensation:
Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience. The position will be located in the organization's San Francisco office, with some travel required.
