Candidates will be responsible for orchestrating and facilitating the commissioning process for large, multi-disciplined projects. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to ensure that equipment and systems are functioning at the efficiency level for which they were designed. This entails scheduling site observations and tests at various times throughout the construction cycle. It is critical that this person has the skills to create and maintain positive professional relationships with all disciplines involved in the construction and renovation of each project. In addition, candidates will write building system commissioning plans, pre-functional and functional test procedures based upon company standards, review equipment submittals and shop drawings for overall compliance with the design intent and functional testing plans.
Other responsibilities include:
-Assisting the construction manager in resolution of problems that would inhibit timely start-up of equipment and/or systems.
-Diagnose and resolve equipment and/or system problems.
-Coordinating contractor retesting of building systems until problems are resolved.
-Document performance shortfalls and recommend remedial measures that benefit owner and long-term maintenance.
-Prepare various commissioning documents.
-Assist maintenance staff to develop their understanding of building systems and design intent. Review operating modes, sequence of operations and specifics of equipment, operations, and maintenance.
-Assist LEED professionals in preparing necessary documents for LEED certification.
-Preparation of final commissioning report.
-Follow-up with all parties involved to ensure all were satisfied with the service provided.
-Prepare final internal closeout report indicating what worked well and what needed improvement with the commissioning process.

Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, understand energy efficiency and have background in control systems (often Johnson controls). Technical knowledge of MEP systems, experience with facilities management and construction are also required. Candidates will have 5+ years of commissioning experience and 10+ years in building/engineering industry.
Strong verbal communication and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, as candidates will be working across teams. Candidates will report to Managing Principal of office.
