VP Global Sales & Marketing at Leading Nutrition Supplement Company (Nova Scotia, Canada, Immediate)
Background:
This is a new position created to accelerate the expansion of the firm from $100 million annual sales to $300 million by 2011. The new Global VP will be responsible for leading the growth in both the Dietary Supplement Ingredients products and, in particular, the Health Food Ingredients (HFI) products. The VP of Global Sales and Marketing will be asked to build a world-leading company, with an outstanding global brand and reputation.
Position Overview:
The firm seeks a candidate with a proven track record in food ingredients sales and who understands the Omega-3 industry. The candidate will be expected to captain a sales and marketing team towards developing new relationships with major manufacturers of products such as baked goods, milk, yogurt, juice, nutrition bars, and confectionary.
The VP Global Sales and Marketing will report directly to the CEO and President, and will manage a sales and marketing team comprised of the following:
VP Marketing and Communications and their team of 7 people
VP of Strategic Accounts
Senior Director of Dietary Supplements
VP Health Food Ingredients
General Manager Sales Asia Pacific – HFI and Dietary supplements
16 Sales Account Managers
Technical product sales
Roles & Responsibilities:
Sustain current customer base
Increase sales to existing customers
Bring in new business through the development and management of a team that will execute the sales function and take over the high level selling and account development from the CEO
Manage a complex sales process involving multiple stakeholders such as Marketing, Research and development and Production
Develop a management process that is highly effective in leading a remote workforce
Lead the Marketing team
Ensure that the marketing and sales processes are integrated and optimized
Work closely with the current VP of Marketing and Communications and with other senior managers
Travel required
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven track record in sales management and building Senior level strategic relationships in the Food Industry, including a credible network of senior VPs of Marketing and also CEOs
Strong customer mind-set and a very professional approach, with a clear ability to manage large, complex sales in the food industry
At least 10 years experience in sales management in the food industry
Experience managing teams that are larger than 10 people
Capacity for dynamic and creative leadership. Continually learning, growing and embracing innovation
Exceptionally strong at managing the sales process, and developing complex, strategic accounts that involve multiple stakeholders
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high growth private business. Entrepreneurial spirit
Results oriented with a strong emphasis on execution and problem solving
Comfortable in multi-cultural, international environments
Compensation:
Base salary between $175,000 and $225,000 dependent on the candidate’s experience. Bonus potential up to 100% of base salary.
