Position Overview:
The Equipment Engineer will support process engineers in repairing, modifying, upgrading and implementing equipment. Specific roles and responsibilities will include:
• Support process engineers in repairing, modifying, upgrading and implementing equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective per the necessary requirements
• Develop and implement new and advanced apparatuses, scientific applications and improve process/production methods
• Improve repeatability and reliability of the equipment
• Constantly study and evaluate the equipment performance and its process capability
• Maintain records of equipment performance, failures, upgrades and safety issues
• Establish programs and implement solutions to increase the capability and repeatability
• Provide technical support to production team for equipment repairs
• Define and write preventive maintenance procedures
• Project planning and execution
• Write Maintenance Procedures
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a "whatever it takes" attitude and will be a strong team player.
Skills and Qualifications:
• BS/MS in Engineering
• Web handling- slitting, cutting (rolls of material)
• Draw schematics using drawing software
• Vacuum technology theoretical and practical knowledge
• Vacuum equipment knowledge including: knowledge of various vacuum apparatuses, understanding of failure mechanisms while designing solutions to resolve the malfunctions, writing specifications and equipment installation
• Deposition process knowledge
• Data analysis/computer skills
• Problem solving, logical thinking and root cause analysis capability
• Ability to communicate with customers and colleagues
• Can-do attitude
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Excellent electrical aptitude
• Knowledge in control systems
• Effective team player
