Product Design Engineer Opportunity at Leading Developer of Solar Technology (Bay Area, immediate start)--ID#10254

Position Overview:
The role will primarily support the development of the existing solar module, and eventually turn its attention to second generation modules once first generation production is complete. Specific roles and responsibilities will include:
• Designing module mounting systems
• Stress test tools and designs systems for other break tests
• Interface with customers and suppliers of both equipment and raw materials
• Perform cross functional-cell engineering
• Manage shipping and handling of the solar mounting systems

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be energetic, motivated, and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. A can-do, hands on appreciation for quality engineering is essential.
Skills and Qualifications:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering from top tier college (MS in product design a plus)
• 2 years commercial product design experience (summer internships at a minimum)
• 3-D mechanical design, computer simulation of static loads on 3-D objects, analytical or computer simulation of heat transfer. Knowledge of Solidworks and ANSYS
• Power electrical design experience:1000V, 15A, DC/AC power diodes, resistors, wiring, connectors
• Product test equipment and methods (mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical, and chemical): design, build, validate, and use on product prototypes. Use results to improve product design
• German language skills are a plus, though not required
