Module Assembly Technician Opportunity at Growing, Early-Stage Solar Firm (Peninsula, Immediate Start)--ID#10263
Background:
Founded in 2007 by several industry leaders, the firm is based on the San Francisco Peninsula and has already secured more than US$10 million in Series A funding and is positioned to establish itself as a pioneer in low cost, high efficiency solar modules. The firm is still relatively small, and the team of highly-skilled professionals is transitioning from start-up mode into full fledged operations with a specific focus on high concentration modules.
Position Overview:
The Module Assembly Technician will assist in the development of the firm’s module assembly pilot line.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Build prototype module configurations
• Perform electrical and mechanical characterization procedures
• Evaluate assembly procedures and work with engineering to improve process steps
• Assist in the development of procedure documentation
• Train production staff on assembly procedures
Skills and Qualifications:
• Self-starter, self driven and enthusiastic
• 5+ years experience in component assembly of photovoltaic or electronic components in production and R&D environments
• Familiarity with basic electrical bench tools – soldering equipment, multimeters, power supplies, as well as experience with automated assembly equipment
• Background in machine maintenance a plus
