Privately backed green tech start up seeks a Marketing Director to design and implement a web-based marketing program for their recently launched site. Located in New York, the start up seeks to become a destination portal for all things green and sustainable.

Backed by a team of experienced tech startup team, this portal has established relationships with Fortune 500 firms to bring their sustainability offerings to the forefront of the growing green web movement. Internally incubated, the firm is poised for growth and looking for its first few key hires to build out the team.
Position Overview:
A brilliant opportunity for an environmental leader with an Internet marketing background to help build a brand and a team to support their unique sales model. The firm sits at the intersection of the online start-up world and the rewarding field of environmental sustainability. Be prepared to get your hands dirty, watch sales flourish from your savvy marketing strategy, and enjoy a fun ride.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop media partnerships to distribute site content
• Build partnerships with green consumer product manufactures, retailers, and environmental non-profit organizations
• Coordinate integration of site with social networks, blogs, and relevant online forums leveraging applications, widgets, and additional viral, 2.0 tools
• Manage SEO initiatives to optimize the site’s organic and paid search performance
• Manage site analytics systems for the company, tracking traffic metrics, user engagement, and preparing periodic dashboard reports
• Contribute to creative content development of the site and the blog around seasonal topics, current affairs, etc.
• Work with the team on internal ad sales and targeted sponsorships
• Take on new projects as necessary to support the rapid growth of the business
Qualifications:
• Successful track record spanning 3-5 years in Internet marketing
• Understanding of SEO and SEM principles, experience implementing strategies, generating keyword lists, and tracking results with web analytics packages such as Google Analytics or Coremetrics
• Experience modeling website’s traffic and financial performance
• Strong familiarity with social network applications and web 2.0, user-driven content environments (ie Wikipedia, Slashdot, Digg, the open source community, social networks)
• Interest in climate change and passion to participate in environmental solutions
• Passion for climate change solutions, sustainable living, and green markets
