General Manager at High Growth Start-up (Houston or Dallas, Immediate)--ID#10284

Background:
Founded in 2004 by two emerging environmental leaders, the firm has secured multiple rounds of venture financing as it continues to pioneer its integrated, novel waste management solutions. The privately held firm remains small, though is growing quickly and recruiting a team of highly-skilled professionals to establish operations throughout North America, and eventually internationally.

Roles and Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for all technical service activities on a daily basis as well as the planning and strategic design/recommendations. This would include interaction with various external stakeholders including vendors, both current and prospective.
•    Directs all data related activities including collection, processing and reporting function.  Oversees data administrative activities and personnel.
•    Maintains relationships and positive contact with current customers, both municipal and hauler. This would include initiation and/or participation of regular meetings and customer calls. Coordinate resolution of customers’ issues and problems.  
•    Drives new business development with a staff of Regional Sales Executives.
•    Develops relationships and positive contact with prospective customers, both municipal and hauler. This would include developing and performing sales presentations to various prospective customers; support sales visits in market to demonstrate the firm in action.  
•    Responsible for development and supervision of personnel within the department to accomplish all goals.
•    Responsible for supporting annual budget process for operations department.  Responsible for regular financial reviews, budget variance analysis and corrective actions as needed.  
•    Provide the Company with up-to-date information and make recommendations regarding operational, technical, and sales related issues. Participate in the management of the organization including developing strategy and execution of goals and objectives.  

Skills and Qualifications:
•     10+ years of experience
•     Knowledge of the waste industry
•     Deep experience working with P&L, customer management, and contract management.
•     Must be multi-dimensional, able to effectively manage and cultivate relationships,  provide account maintenance, manage nuances and details of contracts.
•     Project management oriented, detail-oriented.
•     Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•     4-year undergraduate degree required, an engineering degree a plus
