Solar Sales Engineer at Growing, Early-Stage Solar Firm (Peninsula, Immediate Start)--ID# 10275

Background:
Founded in 2007 by several industry leaders, the firm is based in the Peninsula and has already secured more than US$10 million in Series A funding and is positioned to establish itself as a pioneer in low cost, high efficiency solar modules. The firm is still relatively small, and the team of highly-skilled professionals is transitioning from start-up mode into full fledged operations with a specific focus on high concentration modules.

Roles and Responsibilities:  
•    Provide overall technical support for module products.  
•    Develop design specification for sample configurations including all system components.
•    Develop and maintain documentation regarding compatible non-module system components including racking, trackers, inverters, monitoring systems etc.  
•    Assist in modeling of system performance and annual energy production
•    Work closely with customers, architects, installers and engineers to resolve technical issues.
•    Provide technical consultation to the sales and marketing team.
•    Consult with customers regarding installation design, including mounting, components, and overall performance.
•    Recommend product improvements for existing modules and assist in new product definition.
•    Improve/develop standard operating procedures for the design and installation of modules.
•    Gather, monitor, and assess performance data obtained from installations of modules. Perform detailed technical competitive analysis of solar modules.  
•    Provide technical documentation as required for sales and marketing.   

 
Skills and Qualifications:
•    Demonstrated knowledge of the solar industry, including solar cells, modules, inverters, monitoring systems and other system components.  
•    Extensive knowledge of photovoltaic market, technologies, components and customers.  
•    5+ years designing, managing and/or installing PV solar systems.  
•    Project Management experience on solar installations.
•    Familiarity with the PPA model and pertinent financial modeling and metrics.  
•    Knowledge of NEC codes and appropriate building codes.  
•    Familiarity with LEED and green building is helpful.  
•    Experience in establishing and enhancing processes and standard operation procedures.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
•    Team player with strong customer service skills.  
•    Strong Computer Skills- MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
•    Bachelors Degree in Engineering- Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Preferred
